Customer payments are held in a dedicated account at our partner bank, kept separate from rano's own money.
Card details go straight into a certified vault. We only ever see a token.
We host in South Africa and follow POPIA. We collect only what the law and fraud checks need.
If we ever need to hold a payout, we tell you why and what we need from you, before we do it.

Questions
You can build in test mode as soon as we open sign-ups. Live payments start once our partner bank has registered us as a payment provider. Early-access merchants hear first.
We're registering with the South African Reserve Bank as a third-party payment provider through a partner bank, and with the Financial Intelligence Centre. We won't process real payments until that's done.
A PayShap or EFT payment costs a few rand to move, whatever the amount. Cards carry percentage fees for the customer's bank and the card network. We pass both through at cost, so the difference shows up in your fee.
Not to get paid. You'll be able to share a payment link or send customers to a hosted checkout page. The API is there when you want payments built into your own site or app.
Yes. You can run rano alongside your current provider while you move over, and there's no contract to sign or minimum to hit.
Credit and international cards cost more to process than local debit cards, so the cost part of the fee is higher. You'll see the exact split on every payment before anything is settled.
We’re onboarding a small group of South African businesses first. Leave your email and we’ll be in touch.
